The Mailglade app

Mailglade builds and searches an index of the Thunderbird folders you select, on your computer. Your messages, search queries, embeddings and generated summaries are not uploaded to Mailglade or to an AI provider. No cloud AI account or API key is required.

• The app contains no analytics, telemetry, crash uploads or advertising identifiers.
• Hardware checks (memory, processor cores, free disk space and a local timing test) are shown to you and never sent anywhere.
• Removing indexed data from settings deletes the index, cached results and summaries. Your original mail in Thunderbird is not touched.
• Thunderbird itself still talks to your mail provider as you have configured it.
• An external AI agent can read results only if you pair it and only from folders you allow. That agent may send what it reads to its own model provider, which Mailglade cannot control.

Model downloads

Search and summary models are downloaded only after you approve each download in settings. The smart search model comes from Hugging Face; the summary model comes from mailglade.app.

A download request to mailglade.app contains the model and build being requested and a short-lived download grant. The grant contains no account, device or installation identifier. Like any web server, the service receives your IP address and the app version in the request. Your IP address is used to limit how many downloads can be requested per minute and is not stored in a database. Every downloaded file is checked against a fingerprint built into the app before it is used.

This website

mailglade.app uses no cookies, analytics or third-party scripts, and loads its fonts from this site. It is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes requests, including IP addresses, to deliver pages and protect the service. Our download service keeps error messages for troubleshooting; they do not include IP addresses or request paths.

Purchases

Paid licences are not on sale yet. When they are, checkout will happen on a payment processor’s hosted page, and licences will be verified on your computer without contacting a server.
